The Emergency Funds for Citizens provides short term financial assistance, on a case by case basis, to families undergoing financial crisis or hardship. Families are referred to the Youth Council through the Youth Advocate Program. Crisis grant support is provided to families needing temporary help with bills such as those for heating, rent, field trip payments, and school supply purchases. The recipients remain anonymous.

Crisis support grants are funded through Friends of the Youth Council.
